With help from bouillon cubes, this soup is ready within fifteen to twenty minutes. The amounts given can be adjusted to your preferences. I like a soup filled with goodies and just enough liquid to let the flavors combine.
1½ | cups | Water |
1 | Bouillon CubesIf using Knorr; if not enough to flavor 2 cups of water. | |
1 | cup | CabbageAbout a one inch wedge, sliced very thinly the short wat |
¼ | cup | CarrotsVery thinly sliced |
½ | cup | PastaImportant: use fine long pasta such as Angel Hair, and break it into pieces about 1 1/2 inches in length. |
1 | Pour the water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. |
2 | At the boiling point, add the bouillon flavored cube(s), cabbage, carrots, and pasta. |
3 | Let boil about six minutes or so stirring occasionally, until the pasta is cooked and the cabbage just slightly translucent. |
4 | The pasta, veggies, and bouillon flavors blend into a very tasty dish. |
5 | You can get very experimental with this basic dish. You can add left-overs, or a different variety of vegetables. Just be sure any fresh vegetables are sliced or chopped very finely. |
6 | We've had this soup with some good crusty bread and butter for a very satisfying winter meal-in-a-hurry. |
